According to a statement by the Basque police, the hidden cache contained explosives and bomb-making equipment. Two people were arrested on suspicion of belonging to ETA.

Basque police say they have arrested two suspected members of the armed Basque group ETA and discovered a hidden cache containing explosives and bomb-making equipment.

Basque police said in a statement that the two men were arrested Thursday on suspicion of belonging to ETA. They were identified as Zunbeltz Bedialauneta and Urtza Alkorta.

The arrests and explosives find happened in the Basque fishing port of Ondarroa where a car bomb explosion blamed on ETA injured 10 people on Sept. 21, 2008. Police arrested five ETA suspects Tuesday, three of them in Ondarroa.

Spanish police arrested on Tuesday five other suspected members of the Basque armed group who may have been involved in a car bomb attack on a police station in September 2008, police said.

The suspects were arrested early in the morning on the border of the Basque provinces of Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa. Several homes and properties were searched.
