Creator of social network Tuenti, popular with Spain's student community, closes the line-up of speakers at this year's Internet conference.
Nonick, an international event centred around the Internet, will take place this year in the Basque city of Bilbao between May 14th and 15th. The focus of this year''s event will be online communities.
Dentzel, now 27, created Tuenti when he was 23. Now based in Madrid, he first came to Spain on an exchange program while still a student in the US. It was then that he created Tuenti, at first trying it out only on his closest social circle. Now, four years later, Tuenti has 8 million users, almost all of them students, who use it on a daily basis.
The confirmation of Dentzel as a participant at Nonick puts the final touch to an impressive line-up of speakers for this year''s event, which will be opened on Friday the 14th by Jennifer Preston, Social Media Editor of the New York Times. Speeches, talks, roundtable discussions, workshops and networking sessions complete this year''s event, which aims to become a European benchmark in Internet issues.
Nonick is organized by eitb.com and the SPRI group, part of the Basque Government, with the cooperation of Metroo.
