A Vietnamese man had been sleeping with the remains of his dead wife for eight years, keeping her bones in a giant puppet of human size. The authorities were unable to stop him from doing this, as published lately in local media.
The 57-year-old man dug up the bones of his dead wife in 2004, one year after her death, and has slept with them ever since. Often one of his seven children would accompany him, according to the journal 'VietnamNet'.
The authorities urged him to bury the human remains of his wife in 2009, when his case was published for the first time, but there existed no law that would oblige him to do so.
The man, who lives in the province of Quang Nam, slept with the cadaver of his wife until his children convinced him that he could not continue to sleep in these circumstances.
He therefore decided to build a human size puppet out of clay and with clothing, and put the bones of his deceased wife inside.
