Diana Krall, at the 48th Heineken Jazz Festival

The 48th Heineken Jazz Festival, to be held between the 24th and the 28th July 2013 in San Sebastian, will feature artists such as Diana Krall, Pharoah Sanders, Dave Douglas, Steve Swallow, Steps Ahead, Hiromi, Youn Sun Nah and Gregory Porter, these are the first important names of the program that will be completed later.

On very short notice, the bands and artists who will perform in the John Zorn Masada Marathon will be announced.

The Festival once again is betting on renowned artists and the variety of styles, bringing together a great diva, such as Diana Krall, and a historical figure, Pharoah Sanders, with emerging singers like Gregory Porter and Youn Sun Nah, veterans like Dave Douglas, Steve Swallow and Steps Ahead, with the always fresh piano player Hiromi.

Diana Krall’s concert will be on July 28, the same day that Hiromi and Youn Sun Nah will also be playing. The 25th will be for the Steve Swallow Quintet (which includes pianist Carla Bley) and Steps Ahead, led by Mike Mainieri. The 26th is when Dave Douglas is playing and also Pharoah Sanders. Gregory Porter will play on the 24th.
