04/19/2013
Mark and Alex Ayling show off 24 epic hours in 'Europe's coolest city' that hope will make them winners of a trip around the world -6 months of travel to 6 continents- plus a $50,000 cash prize.
Mark and Alex Ayling, two brothers from California also known as the Vagabrothers, are finalists in the My Destination.com's Biggest, Baddest, Bucket List Competition to compete for a trip around the world -6 months of travel to 6 continents- plus a $50,000 cash prize.
For their entry, they've made a 3-minute video of their favourite city, Donostia-San Sebastian, where they have lived for some time.
Their video in 'Europe's coolest city' starts in one of 'the best urban beaches in Europe', halfway between Mundaka and Hossegor, two of the best waves in the world. Then after a short surfing, the Vagabrothers' video takes the visitors climbing a mountain in the middle of the city, Monte Urgull, from where they get a view into the city's past, from the port to the fort and the beautiful La Concha beach.
It does not forget to mention the royal past of the city, chosen by Spanish Kings in the past a their royal resort.
The video goes on remarking that the city will be 2016 Cultural Capital of Europe thanks to the International Film festival, unique celebrations like the San Sebastian Day and all the awesome sculptures that turn the city into a one giant open-air museum.
Of course, gastronomy has its place in the video, starting by the pintxos, 'crazy culinary creations that will blow your mind'. Monte Ullia, sagardotegis or cider houses and the night in the city complete the list of things after '24 epic hours in San Sebastian', that they hope make them winners of the competition.
The ultimate winner will be chosen in London on may 24th. The panel of judges includes Ben Southall, winner of Best Job in the World.
The winners will leave in June 2013 and return by the end of December 2013, after having visited minimum of 25 locations from the My Destination network of their choosing and at least 2 destinations from each continent.
