Spain's foreign minister said Tuesday in Madrid that two Spaniards had been kidnapped in Colombia. But Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo did not provide any additional details, including their names.
Maj. Cesar Gonzalez of Colombia's anti-kidnapping unit says officials found the car Friday in Guajira state. The car contained documents indicating it was rented May 2 by Conchi Marlaska and Angel Sanchez of Spain.
Gonzalez tells The Associated Press that the two were last seen in the coastal city of Santa Marta a week ago. He says authorities have no information from area residents they have questioned about what might have happened to the couple.
