Basque Government to boost internationalization of firms

The Basque premier met representatives from several Basque firms in order to present them with a plan to boost their role abroad.

Basque Country's Premier Iñigo Urkullu met on Monday representatives from some of the most important Basque firms to present them with a Basque Government program that seeks to boos the role of these firms abroad.

The event, that was held at the seat of the government in Vitoria-Gasteiz, was attended by the presidents of Aernnova, Grupo Arteche, Etxetar, CAF, CIE, Gamesa, Gestamp, Iberdrola, Idom, Ingenteam, ITP, Grupo Mondragon, Sener, Tubacex and Velatia. Minister for Economic Development Arantza Tapia was also at the meeting.

According to information previous to the meeting, Urkullu's new strategy  will seek to help firms increase productivity and become more efficient with the help of public institutions, chambers of commerce, 'clusters' and other social agents.
