After registering their candidacies, the representatives of Bildu will present the candidates for the city of Donostia-San Sebastian and the General Assembly of Gipuzkoa.

Bildu coalition -which includes Eusko Alkartasuna, Alternatiba and left-wing pro-independence individuals- will present today around 300 ''legal'' lists in several communities of the Basque Country and Navarre.

The General Secretary for Eusko Alkartasuna Pello Urizar and the coordinator for Alternatiba Oskar Matute appeared before the media on Sunday to show their support for the Korrika, which finished in Donostia-San Sebastian on the same day.

They indicated that Bildu will fulfill the legal deadlines and will register candidacies in the vast majority of municipalities of the Basque Country and Navarre, up to a total of 300.

After registering their candidacies, the representatives of Bildu will present the candidates for the city of Donostia-San Sebastian and the General Assembly of Gipuzkoa.

Bildu was formed in March with two legal parties, Eusko Alkartasuna and Alternatiba and pro-independence candidates running without affiliation.

Sortu, formed by pro-independence Basque left-wing nationalist militants, was denied legal status on March by the Supreme Court, saying the new party Sortu is a repackaged version of ETA''s already outlawed political wing. The Supreme Court rejected an appeal by Sortu. The party can file another appeal, this time with the country''s highest tribunal, the Constitutional Court, although it is unlikely a ruling will come in time for the May 22 voting.
