The same High Court room that ordered the release of the former ETA member revoked the order and ordered the arrest of Troitiño, who must serve six more years in prison.

Spain''s High Court revoked the release from prison of a former ETA member who has served 24 years in years and ordered his arrest and imprisonment, Spanish news agency EFE reported quoting court sources.

Former ETA member Anton Troitiño was released April 13th after having spent 24 years in prison for killing 22 people, including 11 policemen in Madrid in 1986. Troitiño was sentenced to more than 3,000 years but the maximum allowed is 30.

According to the same sources, the court ruling establishes thay Troitiño might have to serve six more years in prison as judges may apply the ''Parot doctrine" to this case.

Under the so-called "Parot doctrine", established by the Spanish Supreme Court in the case involving ETA member Henri Parot on 28 February 2006, sentence redemptions are applied successively to the sentences detainees are ordered to serve, rather than directly to the maximum allowed, which would often render them ineffective, ensuring that repeat offenders serve the 30-year maximum.
