Amaiur wins 6 seats in Basque Country; PNV 5, PSE 4 and PP 3

PNV received the most votes and won five seats in the Spanish parliament but Amaiur won one seat more with less votes.

Left-wing nationalist coalition Amaiur won an election in the autonomous community of the Basque Country obtaining 24,11% of the ballot (votes), enough to win them six seats in the Spanish parliament.

With 99.81% of the ballot counted, the PNV received the most votes but lost one seat with 27.44% of the total ballot, taking their total representation in the Spanish parliament from six down to five.

The Socialist party was the big looser of the night losing five seats, taking them from nine down to four parliamentary deputies, after obtaining 21.52% of the vote.The PP with 17.81%, hold on to their three seats in region.

Biscay

In Biscay, the Basque nationalist party PNV is the province's most voted party, obtaining 32.62% of the ballot, enough to win them three seats, the same number as in 2008.

The PSOE, with 21.34% of the total ballot (votes) becomes the province’s second political force having lost two seats, going from four down to two.

Amaiur was third with 19.21 % of the ballot and two seats. The PP, with 17.72%, hold on to their seat in the province.

Gipuzkoa

In Gipuzkoa, Amaiur becomes the province’s most voted party with 34.85% of the ballot gaining three seats. The PNV, meanwhile, managed to obtain a seat, one less than in 2008, after winning 22.42% of the ballot.

PP, with votes and 13.68 % of the ballot, hold onto their only seat. PSOE got one seat, going down from 3 to one, with 20.92%.

Alava

In Alava, the PP is the province’s most voted party, obtaining 27.17% of the ballot, enough to win them a seat, the same number as in 2004. PSOE (23.44%), PNV (18.86) and Amaiur (19.11%) also won one seat each.
