In a communique sent to the Basque newspaper Gara on Saturday, ETA inames belonging to the Euskal Preso Politikoen Kolektiboa or EPPK (Basque Political Prisoners’ Collective) announced that "each" member of the EPPK will request in the coming days his transfer to prisons in Euskadi and Navarre. The EPPK considers their "bundling" is necessary to make their "active and positive contribution" to the "political process" in the Basque Country.

"To make our active and positive contribution to the political process we must be brought together in the Basque Country," the newspaper quoted.

The inmates demanded to be "respected" because they claim they are "a direct and undeniable consecuence of the political conflict, as of the resolution."

ETA prisoners announced they have launched a process of internal debate to mark the "course" of this group, which claimed "it has something to say in the way of the democratic resolution."

The purpose of the debate is to "define and update" the political leadership of this group "on the road to amnesty and self-determination."

"It's time to take bold, deep and democratic. The roadmap of the solution requires it," the inmates added.
